2017 Week 3 Highlights

Week 3: October 5 & 8, 2017

Seniors:

The AIG lions were led offensively by Peter Knigge, Will Brandt, and Basil Rieger to win 32-26 in the win over the Ironshore Giants. Giancarlo Momo led the team on defense. For the Giants, Thomas Poljevka and Julian Liao led the defense. On offense, Nico Cucchi connected with Henri Maman for three long touchdown receptions. Cucchi ran in a touchdown on a quarterback draw.

The PBA Broncos won 37 -15 over the Teresa Caffé Jets. The Broncos’ Alex Winters caught 3 touchdowns and Gabe Jacknow caught 2 from James Petrone. Carl Birge added a touchdown off an interception and Michio Patifio ran in the lone extra point. For the Jets, Jackson Petrone contributed with a touchdown.

The Majeski Falcons, led by Max Majeski, Richard Pierre-Paul, Gabe Majeski, Jeremy Sallade, Benji Tartar and Ryan Friedman all scored touchdowns on the day and were victorious over the Small Coffee Steelers 45-18. Patrick Suryanarayan recorded an interception and a receiving touchdown and Trey Brackin added two touchdown receptions for the Steelers.

 

Juniors:

Thursday, October 5th

Jamie Duffy, Jackson Siano and Kirthi Suryanarayan all scored touchdowns and Joe Poller scored a two point conversion to power the Bai Broncos passed the Graylin Design Saints 20-12.

The Christine’s Hope Cardinals won 36-14 over the Petrone Associates Eagles. The Cardinals’ Jonny Feldman scored twice with one score from a Teddy Klepacki pass.  Corey Woodson scored twice and Archie Smith had two interceptions returned for scores. The Eagles played tough all night and posted touchdowns from Merritt Long and Fletcher Harrision.

Sunday, October 8th

The Pure Insurance Steelers were once again led by QB Travis Petrone, who had two passing touchdowns to Braden Barlag, one receiving touchdown from Hayden Kostopolis, one rushing touchdown, one interception, and two tackles for losses in the 28-7 win over the Chubb Insurance Bills.  Nolan Maurer was a sure set of hands with four receptions including two for extra points.  Colton Monica played great for the dominant Steelers defense.  The Bills scored on a QB sneak by Aiden Ur.

The Christine’s Hope Cardinals pulled out the victory over the Bai Broncos 25-14.  Jonny Feldman had two touchdowns, one from a Teddy Klepacki pass.  Klepacki also scored off a Corey Woodson pass.  Noah Blackman scored the final touchdown.  For the Broncos, Jackson Siano connected with Joe Poller for a touchdown and Peter Niforatos had a long touchdown run.

The Petrone Associate Eagles were led by Fletcher Harrision, Matthew Brophy and Merritt Long to win against the Narragansett Bay Lions 20-14. Theo Bromier and Kobe Smith lead the defense with Smith making an interception on fourth and inches for a full field touchdown return. With 15 seconds to play, Merritt took over with a winning pass to Brophy to win the game 20-14! “It really was a whole team win!” said Coach Mike.  For the Lions, Gavin Lewis and Fabian Barile each scored on long touchdown runs, Raphael Frase hauled in a long pass, and Ezra Lerman zipped a 2-point conversion pass to Fabian Barile.

 

Rookies:

The University Orthopaedic Falcons tied the University Orthopaedic Giants 7-7. John Monica and Chase Gallagher scored the loan touchdowns on each side. Charlie Crotty and Cole Dorsky had great defensive stops for the Falcons.

Cooper Casto, Sean Devlin, and Lucas Li scored three unanswered touchdowns for the AYCO Falcons.

Strong defense was played by Liam McCloskey and Gavin Mcpartland on the AYCO Crushers.
