2017 Week 5 Game Highlights

Seniors:

Thursday, 10/19

The PBA Broncos won 27-24 over the Small World Steelers. For the Broncos, two touchdowns Alex Winters scored twice and Carl Birge and Jacob Rose-Seiden scored one each.  Drew Pianka and James Petrone added extra points.    Great defense was played by Alex Greenberg. For the Steelers, Alex Brackin, Zach Brackin and Nate March all caught passes for touchdowns and Rohan Sheth ran for a touchdown.

Trattoria Procaccini Saints won 32-30 over AIG Lions. Ryan Cruser led the Saints with 3 TD, 1 on the ground, 1 through the air from Ben Walden, and 1 via a kickoff return to seal the win.  Christian Paul added two touchdowns. For the Lions, Will Brandt and Peter Knigge had touchdowns.

Sunday, 10/22

Majeski Foundation Falcons won 35-24 against the PBA Broncos. Will Morgan, Gabe and Max Majeski, Jeremy Sallade and Max Blecher scored for the Falcons. For the Broncos Drew Pianka caught a touchdown pass from James Petrone.  James ran for a touchdown and Alex Winters scored two more touchdowns.

The Trattoria Procaccini Saints edged the Ironshore Giants 19-13.  For the Saints, QB Ben Walden connected with Ryan Cruser for 3 scores. Jake Angelucci led the team defensively in total tackles including a goal-line tackle on 4th down to stop the Giants. For the Giants, Julian Liao scored a touchdown and Nico Cucchi ran and threw for a touchdown. On defense AJ Surace caught an interception.

Oliver Smith threw 2 touchdown passes and ran for a touchdown to power the Teresa Caffe Jets passed the Small World Steelers 33-12.  Jackson Caruso, Jack Davidge, and Jaxon Petrone each scored for the Jets. For the Steelers, Alex Brackin ran for a touchdown and Zach Brackin caught a touchdown thrown by Nate March. Evan Bell lead the team in tackles.

 

Juniors:

Thursday, 10/19

The Narragansett Bay Lions roared out to an early 12-0 lead after Ezra Lerman scored a long running TD, and Dylan Powers scored on a short QB keeper. The Bai Broncos stampeded back with scores by Joe Poller, Peter Niforatos, and a touchdown pass from Jackson Siano to Wyatt Engelhart and an extra point by Kirthi Suryanarayan off a Jamie Duffy pass in the 20-12 victory for the Broncos.

Pure Insurance improved to 4-1, by defeating Petrone Associates 33-20.  For Pure it was Travis Petrone leading the Steelers with three scores including a pick six to seal the victory. Braden Barlag had an interception for a TD & Alex Paul added a running TD.  For Petrone Associates Matthew Brophy scored twice & Merritt Long ran for a touchdown.

Sunday, 10/22

The Cardinals were led by Corey Woodson who threw for two touchdowns and ran for one in the 24-0 win over the Narragansett Bay Lions. Jacob Reece, Noah Blackman, Archie Smith scored touchdowns and Teddy Klepacki had a key interception.  The Lions offense had an impressive deep pass from Gavin Lewis to Raphael Frase.

The Pure Insurance Steelers defeated the Graylyn Design Saints 38-20.  The Steelers were propelled to victory with 4 touchdowns by Braden Barlag and one rushing and 3 passing touchdowns by Travis Petrone. Hayden Kostoplis added a receiving touchdown.  Colton Monica, Nolan Maurer, and Ian Lansky all contributed with multiple flag grabs for losses.

The Bai Broncos beat the Petrone Associates Eagles 19-12. Jackson Siano threw three touchdown passes, one to Peter Niforatos, and two to Jamie Duffy for the Broncos. Kirthi Suryanarayan added an extra point for the Broncos.

 

Rookies:

The University Orthopaedic Giants tied the University Orthopaedic Broncos, 28-28. John Monica, Jamie Monica, Cole Dorsky, and Mason Merse scored for the Giants . The Broncos answered with two long touchdowns by Chase Gallagher and one touchdown each by George Rieger and Sebastian Murdock.

Touchdowns for Jack McGuire and Ian Brito lead the AYCO Crushers to a 14-7 victory over the AYCO Falcons. Lucas Li scored the lone touchdown for the Falcons.
