Week 3 GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Week 3
Junior Division:
The AYCO Ducks beat the Trattoria Procaccini Bull Dogs (25-0) after jumping out to an early lead on a “pick 6” by JP Claffey. The Ducks Merritt Long scored with some impressive yards after a catch on a strike by QB Jake Angelucci. Alex Winters added two rushing touchdowns and Gavin Lewis led the defense in tackles in the shutout. For the BullDogs, Sebastian Alizio led in tackles while Ben Walden and Will Renda showed their speed breaking up plays in the Duck’s backfield in the loss.
The Narrangansett Bay Spartans beat the Princeton PBA Hawkeyes (38-20) in a cold, rainy game. The Spartans AJ Surace, John Linko and Patrick Suryanarayan each had three touchdowns to give their team a nice win. The team had some important interceptions by AJ Surace, Ellington Hinds and John Linko. The Hawkeyes played strong with Travis Petrone scoring on a QB keeper and Marvin Whitest scoring two more running touchdowns.
The AIG Tarheels beat the Graylyn Design Fighting Irish (26-13).  The Tarheels Jack Crotty had an 80 yard touchdown run in the first play of the game. The team extended their first half lead with another touchdown by Remmick Granozio and Isaiah Potocny’s pick-6. Jamie Duffy started a Fighting Irish comeback with a 2nd half pick-6 for a touchdown, and Johnny Olivi brought in their extra point. Langston Hinds brought the Irish within one score with an 80 yard touchdown run. But the Tarheel’s Isaiah Potocny added a touchdown run in the 2nd half to stifle the opposition’s strong comeback and secure the win for the Tarheels.  Sam Perry and Connor Hewitt had a strong game of tackling and leading the defensive effort for the Tarheels.
Senior Divison:
The Teresa Cafe Steelers outscored the Bai Jets (33-18). The Steelers QB Will Brandt lead the offense throwing three touchdowns and running for two more. Carl Birge caught two touchdowns, Dave Shaw caught one and Palmer Maurer contributed with three extra points. Defensively Anthony Momo had two interceptions. For the Bai Jets, Drew Pianka, Henri Maman and John Reardon all scored touchdowns for their team.
The Majeski Foundation Texans won against the Petrone Associates Seahawks (34-20) behind an all around strong play by Jaxon Petrone who recorded offensive and defensive touchdowns. Texan Marty Brophy also starred with a touchdown reception and interception. The defense was led by Evan Bell and Gabe Majeski. For the Seahawks, Dylan Angelucci connected for two touchdowns to Ryan Cruser and James Petrone. Sanjay Suryanarayan also contributed with a touchdown. Seth Liebowitz led with great offense.
In an exciting game, the Chubb Insurance Saints beat the Pure Insurance Panthers (29-18). Will Doran led the Saints offense scoring three touchdowns and connecting with Peter Hare on a 20 yard pass for a fourth. Zander DeLuca also contributed passing for a touchdown, forcing a safety, and catching two extra points. Jack Godfrey threw for two extra points, and had a key interception in the second half while Peter Knigge knocked down multiple passes and made tackles throughout the game. For the Panthers, QB Bobby Kuczynski passed for two touchdowns, one to Jake Renda and one to Archer Ayers, and ran for a third. Sean Vogel had key interceptions as well.
